FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Committee Unanimously Supports Schoch for Transportation SecretaryHARRISBURG – The Senate Transportation Committee today
unanimously supported the confirmation of Barry Schoch to serve as the next
secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), committee
Chairman John C. Rafferty, Jr. (R-Montgomery) announced. "With nearly three decades of experience in planning and developing transportation systems, Mr. Schoch will undoubtedly provide steady leadership and valuable insight as Pennsylvania manages the indelible transportation challenges and opportunities facing it in the years ahead," Chairman Rafferty said. "During this nomination process, he assured us that he would look for new ways for state agencies to share resources and to enhance the transparency of the state's transportation operations and I look forward to working closely with him to achieve those shared goals. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to support Mr. Schoch's nomination when it comes to the floor as he is amply qualified to serve the Commonwealth as the next Secretary of PennDOT."
